Sasha Bakhru is Ready to Publish Stem Cell Research
Sasha Bakhru is a VP, CTO, and Co-Founder at Perosphere Inc, a specialty pharmaceuticals company, and an adjunct assistant professor of medical science at Brown University in Providence, RI. Sasha Bakhru is an engineering science grauduate student studying biomedical engineering and mechanical engineering. Sasha obtained a graduate degree in materials science and engineering explore the fundamentals of the design of materials, their fabrication and tissue engineering. Current projects include the design of polymeric hydrogel-based scaffolds for ex vivo neural stem cell expansion.
Important acheivements that Sasha Bakhru has accomplished include a project designed to engineer a microcapsule-based platform for detecting the impact of different biochemical and topographical cues on growth and diversity. Additionally, he has used a methylated collagen, set by esterification of small bits of the carboxylic acid groups of glutamic and aspartic acid deposits on native porcine collagen (polycationic), and synthetic terpolymer, poly(HEMA:MAA:MMA) (polyanionic) to produce microcapsules by multifaceted coascrevation at the interface of drops of methylated collagen mixtures comprising of stem cell suspensions and receiving baths of terpolymer blends.
Sasha Bakhru has also applied his expertise by encapsulating rodent neutral stem cells to study them and comprehend the effect functionalized 3D microenvironments have on substrate-adherent, pluripotent cells. Look for publications of his work that are soon to come. He plans to research polymer-based drug delivery systems, micro-total analysis systems, and microfluidics and biological microelectromechanical systems. He is an expert machinist, with 250 hours logged in clean fabrication environments. He has worked with Mathlab 6.0, Mathematica, Alias Wavefront, Java and C.
